Only Parting To Breathe Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Only Parting To Breathe

Uttering a fleeting sentiment
I place a finger
Upon your sleepy lips
Just a thought
But believe it to be true
Go back to slumber
Keep dreaming, dearest
Tomorrow awaits us
With every passing day
Pulling me closer
To when I can finally
Rub my nose against yours
Sleep has evaded me
But my thoughts are intact
With faded faces of stars
And insipid planes flying by
Soon I’ll be there
We’ll wear each other
Only parting to breathe
