Only You Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Only You

There you are
and here I am
in our best clothes
lying under the beautiful stars.

The warmth of your hand
upon my cold own
sent a thousand songs
into my beating heart.

I wanted to tell you
how you made me feel
but they’re trapped so tight
within me.

Should I scream it out
or just keep it in
maybe I’ll hold you close
and leave it to Universe instead.

You asked what was on my mind
I said, what about my heart?
You nodded, I stayed hushed
there was just you. Only you.
