Only Way Out - Poem by Latoya Scranton

You may not see it yet,
But its always there inside.
Like a singing fire,
Or scorching flames,
Or a piercing bellowing cry.
Like the torture in a dungeon,
Or the tickilng in your side.
Like the feeling of soon to be married,
And evil is your bride.
Yes you may love them now,
Shouting their name around town,
But soon the hurt will be found,
And out of your mouth
Won't be heard a sound.
See I've cried my tears
On throughout my years.
Yeah I may be young,
But I've been sprung,
And all the sad songs I sure have sung;
I'm goin down
Cause your not around,
And your not coming home tonight.
But who am I foolin'
I need a good schoolin'
Cause love should of brought your ass home last night.
I said I didn't care
And I let you go on your way,
So why am I holding this gun right up to my face?
Something says no,
Something says yes,
I can hardly breat,
I can't even rest!
Why don't you love me?
Why don't you need me?
I think I truly did my best.
I guess I'm nothing.
Always was and always will be.
Damn can anybody even see me?
That's what I thought,
I'm invisible to the world,
And I'm in visible to you too.
There's only one thing left for me to do.
With this gun I shall receive my rest.
No more stress no more being depressed.
Cock the gun pull the trigger yes
I've accomplished Success!
My soul leaves my body,
And my heart is finally free from your grasp.
