Only When I Am Sad - Poem by samuel nze

Only when I am sad
Or irritated
Do I wish to escape
From myself.
Irksome boredom
Trying to hem me in
Is an enemy;
A wise man has said
Give me freedom
Or give me death;
I say give me both
But only at the
Proper time.
