Only You Poem by Kimberly Santistevan

Only You

Waiting for the day I can see you.
While you are on your way,
I want to feel warm inside.
I want to be nervous and feel all those
Butterflies in my stomach.

I want to spend some time with you,
To see how nervous you are compared to me.
I want to fall asleep in your arms.
Wake up next to you and feel your gentle kiss
On my forehead.

I am trapped here without you.
The only freedom I ever get,
Is when I lie awake at night
And close my sleepy eyes.

I can feel your hand on my face,
But that feeling is not yet complete
Without you really here with me.

I want to prove everyone wrong.
I need them to believe me when I say
That you wouldn't hurt me in any way.

I want them to be happy for me,
To smile back at me when I'm with you.

I wish you were with me tonight,
Just to lay next to me and
Fall asleep side by side.
Feeling so right
All through the night.

I know we will see each other
But it really feels like it's a lifetime away.

I need you to be here with me baby,
I just need to feel like you're really the one.

But until then,
I'm going have to dream about us,
Because that is the only time things feel right.
