Onward I drive, Onward I withdraw,
I fight existence in the raw;
Till life itself should its aid withdraw,
Undaunted shall strive - and stake all!
Hear ye! My spirit rebels yet -
Though dimmer the life's lamp flickers;
Though bitter, sorrow smitten, woe bled,
Shall smite anew whet with renewed vigour!
Forward! Forward! ye Hopes forlorn;
To the fore Pride must now ride;
Rest not awed Deeds, rise, and be sworn -
Hear ye! Future strums in glee Fortune's lyre!
Away! Away! Melancholy, Despair, away;
O mock not the weary dream,
Nor let scorn take away the sheen
From morrow's awakening beam!
Onward I drive never to withdraw,
I now fight Life tooth and claw!
Though bloody in deed, yet unbowed,
I ride in lead bludgeoning Existence's chaos!
Riot no more! Let go your goal!
Spoke Death from her sepulchered abode.
Onward! Onward! I yelled, and did some soar,
But, alas, sooner fighting foremost fell - from the bed
And woke yelling to Reality's truthful knell …..
Onward! Onward ……..
