Open To God

A veil hung in God’s holy place
Between the Lord and human race
High priests alone could enter in

To ask God’s grace and cover sin
Man offered blood the choicest meat
This scene each day would priests repeat
When sin once more would stain ones life
Again the priest would take the knife

Salvation cannot come to reign
Where sin and shame in hearts remain
For life to come to you and I
A perfect man, God said should die

The sky grew dark that life, was spent
The temple veil in two was rent
The war of death and hell was won
Through Jesus Christ God’s Lamb and Son

Since Adam, Truth was hid from view
The Way to life through birth anew
The eyes of man were opened wide
As was The Way to God inside

Now at God’s hand’s as King and Priest
From Jesus’ life we all can feast
For through His death died man’s disgrace
Now all through faith may seek God’s face

Although the veil is torn in two
Yet sacrifice remains to do
Holy bodies we need to give
For nothing less with God can live

What wondrous deeds our God has done
For man He gave His only Son
That we His face one day may see
All praise the Lord The Way is free.
