Open Up My World Poem by Grace Rose Price

Open Up My World

I need to be touched
To be loved and cuddled
In spite of my appearance
I am not just a muddle.
Inside this outside shell
Is a person who waits,
To receive your love and attention,
Please I cry out, don't be late.
Give of yourself to me
I can respond to love
Do not leave me here
Like a helpless dove.
Touch me, talk to me
Take me on your lap,
Maybe I'll just slip
Into a much needed nap.
Don't look at the outside
Shell I live in,
Get acquainted with me
Open up my world with a grin.
