Opened Poem by Sade Bolaji

Opened

Rating: 5.0

I knew what to do
I knew exactly what to do
Instead I decided to be a fool
A fool, that obliviously haven't gone to school
The moment that I saw you
Within a smell of your cologne
I knew that I could never be wrong
Be wrong about the song
That kept playing in my head
And it led the way into your arms
Your arms that I thought could protect me
Protect me, what from? You may ask
The harm of being heartbroken
Instead, I fell right into those arms.
And now, I am in this condition
The condition of being heartbroken
The love and care that I gave you, is your token to keep
You made me dig deep inside of me to open
I opened
I opened my heart, thoughts, and mind boy
Boy, I should've left it unopened
Unopened from the harm of your fake arms.
