Other Eyes: Peacock's Poem by Robert B. Shaw

Other Eyes: Peacock's

The evil eye, enshrined and multiplied,
fanned out and flaunted in the strut of pride?

Fatuous folklore. Such eyes by the tailful
worship the sun, exuding nothing baleful,

offering tribute with their iridescence.
Only on us has pride bestowed its essence.
