Other Options Allowed Poem by Bill Bright

Other Options Allowed

It must be said that I have complete admiration
No request for medals in continued dedication
But why do your thoughts continually think
About insular problems like a frayed kitchen sink
The walls provide comfort from a desolate dark
So no need for moans about heat which just isn’t stark
What should be a worry is about a life unfulfilled
And opening my eyes has meant excitement’s instilled
That’s why I thank you both for giving me even the option
To be thinking overtly whilst others needed adoption
You provided me a ladder and I just needed to climb
So now let me continue ascending and not turning benign
Because I would rather live to the potential you have allowed me
And assure you my devotion in this written guarantee
