Our Bliss Is Nigh Poem by Sammy Omotese

Our Bliss Is Nigh

Rating: 5.0

When the faceless moon lingers
When all that is left lack meaning
At such times when the tongue is at war with the teeth
When bitterness shoots up like an umbrella
I am your shadow, near enough but not visible
I am your rainbow, beautiful and reassuring
I am your split image, enigmatic and effervescent
I am your bread, buttered on both ends
When envy is rife
And happiness is far between
When love is all you have to gain
And tears you have to sow
I am your shadow, near enough but not visible
I am your rainbow, beautiful and reassuring
I am your split image, enigmatic and effervescent
I am your bread, buttered on both ends
Be bold but not proud
Be proud but not arrogant
Be arrogant but not boisterous
Be boisterous but not vindictive
When envy is rife
Rejoice our bliss is nigh.
