OUR CIVILIZATION

It was civilization,
that made us move from old to new,
after using words like 'expenditure' and'pacification',
to rub us of all our belongings,
all our valuable properties,
not even our golds they could spare.

It was civilization,
I thought they came to steal,
if their culture was superior,
why did they go with ours?
after years of destructive civilization,
our culture flumped under theirs.

It was civilization,
As we were promoted socially, and demoted culturally,
maybe we should praise them,
for we no longer bury heads with our king.

It was civilization,
we foolishly danced at the front of ugly mirrors,
moving to faraway streams,
leaving behind our belongings,
It was civilization.
