Our Dreams..... Poem by RIC BASTASA

it's been quite a time that
this country is under quarantine:

stay at home, wash your hands,
wear gloves, do not forget your
face masks, observe
social distancing, and so on and
so forth,

and this created so much hardship
practically to all,

this is hunger versus the disease,
poverty versus being saved,

how do grab the two horns of this
dilemma?

last night she finally says,
tired of these rules, bored to death,
and missing her freedoms,

she blurts, "let it be, let it be! "

and i added, "Thy will be done! "

and then we sleep together clinging
separately
to the handsof our dreams.
