Our Feast Poem by Dominic A. Okoliko

Our Feast

Let the sun never goes down
Let its brightness on us shine
Hang your coats and gowns
And come, let's keep a feast
Celebrating one year feat

Let the pot of soup never goes dry
Let its content our heart content
Bring it on, goat meat and fish
Make it round and let all hands feast

Let the palm wine keg keep smiling
Let its joyful tears keep pouring
Until all dry throats get wet
And all cups find their rest

Bring on the sound
Let the stereo feast aloud
Rise and dance to the tune
We're in no hurry to leave soon

If night must fall
Hasting the steps of the moon
Let its wings sweep our pall
And wine us into whirl mood
It is our feast Let's twists our hips
And raise our feet
As we celebrate this year's feat

To you my folks
I gift you my heart
For your love of mountain oaks
That goes round on all hats

Like the surest of the dawn
It shall keep its return
For what binds us is strong
Not with any iron wield but strong bond
