Beneath the overlying feelings
Lies a passion burning hot
This fiery potential that we possess
Cannot easily be forgot
Each touch is more powerful than words we speak
It transports us back to our first night
The air was warm, we were young
We lived our lives carelessly, without fright
Leaning in close to whisper in my ear
Sweet nothings that I mistook for more
What else could we have become
If only you didn't walk out that door
Here we are again, the summer has past
The tension between us is clear
The nine months its been has seemed like years
The unease suddenly slips away as you lean in
To whisper softly in my ear
And I silently thank god, that you are here
