Our Plights

OUR PLIGHT

By: BADA OLAITAN. T (AWESOME)

Our heart were being grieved in the hands of the national cake's distributor
They treat us like the second class citizen of our nativity.
Our plight has turned to our national anthem and yet, no intervention.
We were being treated like pawns in the chess game.

Our predicaments are not in their agenda.
They disseminate what is not of our need through media to cajole us.
Whenever anyone try to prove that we are not fools we actually got rejected and disappointed.
We lament loud and loud in our helpless mud, yet what we receive in turn was mockery.

We youths who need proper care and equipment to tackle the insecurity and poverty that is awaiting the nation in future are being sidelined.
We were only allowed to fully exercise our right during the time they were agitating for power.
After gaining the power, we later discover their propagandas and elusive promises they made during their manifesto and the lite.
We suffer torments in the land of ours where we can't call for redress whenever what we call our fundamental human rights is being trampled upon.

We are in the land where those who are trained to be justice manager turn out to be justice merchant.
We are in the nation where there is no equality among the citizens because more are equal than others.
We are in the vicinity where corruption is the best route to be wealthy even without any iota of fear of the law because those who claim to be law manager have turned law to money making ventures.
We, who tried to envisage the ominous at the aftermath of all.
We got discouraged by our counterparts and colleagues.

We try to stop the struggle when the synergy has not been attained.
Despite all the discouragement, the blood of nationalism and patriotism that flows in my veins press me not to relinquish.
I hereby stand to my feet to join my voice with the voice of those that feels concern to say no to Nepotism, Despotism, Favouritism, Dogmatism, corruption and power abuse…

It's high time we stopped waiting for leaders. The positive change we are all clamouring for can start from us. We can start it individually and collectively we celebrate success. The fact is that Nigeria is decaying and we citizens are not enjoying our rights to the fullest. Let's stop being ignorance about what is germane to our state of living. Let us shun lackadaisical attitude and apathy in us…
