Our Sails Poem by Dmitry Wild

Our Sails

And we run,
we're always on the run
Seizing days with our eyes
All those days are so alike
but those who fell
they have nothing else to fight for

We'll take with us
a blanket full of stars
Draw the route on our palms
Take some air into our lungs
we are going to yell
”they're never going to find us”

Hey, take a look
buildings follow us on foot,
the cars are keeping up the speed
ships follow our path
marked with red and bloody streaks

and our life
became a moonlit freeway
even though they always said
it's impossible and it is far away
it's too dangerous to search
for that distant milky way
