Our Sweet Martyrdom Poem by Milo Lone Elk

Our Sweet Martyrdom

Shivered Autumn
Like restless souls in the sky
With broken thoughts,
I stand here
Damned by your malicious lies

Your soft forehead
pressed against mine
Your here now but I just
Want to be alone
I said to my graceful lady
'Dry your tears'
Because I won't dry them
For you anymore

These melancholic tones
That swayed with the falling leaves
Its afflicting cold
Shattered me inside with
Ashes of you and me

The ashes continue to fall in my head
My tired eyes looking through yours
Words fail what Love wants to say
'This enduring love isn't love anymore'

'Don't cry my love
Don't cry no more'
These words hidden in the dark
Because my heart is burdened
in your hands
I continue to ignore
All that I once love about you
Now here I am
Lost in your solitude

In all your bitterness,
The lies and deceit
I still have something to say,
Then to walk away and leave
Your shadowed reaper behind.

'I am tired of the fights'
Of being here with you
I don't love what you become
And I can't take no more of these lies
You say you'll change
But you still haven't done it in time

You have burned my tomorrows
and fade my love away
Your dying rose,
the thorns suppress me
with your painful embrace

These words are bittersweet
as I come crashing back down
I just wanted you
Not your Sweet Martyrdom
because in the end
Your love is nowhere
To be found
