Out In The Cold Poem by Alc Harris

Out In The Cold

Rating: 4.5

Did you ever have a friend
Who you didn’t know
Always there in darkest night
Left by morning
Not a sound
And though hunted and probed
The feelings
Not on show
A closed door to be found
Slammed shut
Did you ever have a friend
One you couldn’t touch
No matter how you shout
How far your soul reached out
To whom open that voice
Share the thought
But only in return
Silence of heart
Maybe it was I that fired the fatal shot...
While through this life we both do roam
Never with a friend
Have I felt so alone
