Out Of My League? Poem by Michael John Cook

Out Of My League?

Which of the following,
Truly holds more truth,
That if she lowered her standards,
To include my candidacy,
She would regret her decision,
And always yearn for better,
Or that in fact it might be I,
That need to raise my limitations,
And perhaps by doing so,
May no longer see her as my best,
Or is it neither of the above,
Should I ignore all boundaries,
And by breaking down these walls,
See the truth and find my love,
As the love I already have,
Seems bound by certain rules,
That must not ever be broken,
And is done only by the ignorant,
Yet if that simply is the case,
And is agreed with by herself,
Then she can not be the one for me,
As she will never feel true love
