Out Of The Window - Poem by Savannah Shugart
The night when i am by myself
the animals sitting on the shelf
start to dance and sing
and wither and spread their wings
they come and whisper very gently to me..
'oh dear girl wont you help us flee? '
i open up the window and throw them out to fly
but then im alone and i cry out ' why oh why? '
i stick my head out the window to see
my newly free animals starting to fly away and flee
the smiles on their faces
the tears of their laughter
i think to myself ' oh why do i realize things after? '
its too late now and im all alone
oh how i wish i was the one out of this chamber.. out of the window
