Over 100 Million A Year To Arrest Ohio Pot Smokers Poem by Saiom Shriver

Over 100 Million A Year To Arrest Ohio Pot Smokers

Each year over 100 million
added up is several billion
spent in Ohio enforcing pot laws
and bursting asunder
the families of nonviolent civilians.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Note: It is the alcohol and privatized
prison industries who are
fighting against marijuana legalization,
despite the fact that alcohol not pot releases
violence, causes domestic battering,
has killed millions of people in this
century on the highways, millions
more through cirrhosis of the liver,
delirium tremens, etc.

'Howard Rahtz (is) a former Cincinnati Police Department captain who has written and spoken about battling illegal drug trafficking. Rahtz is also a member of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition, a national organization of current and former officers who believe anti-drug laws don't work and often advocate legalizing marijuana.'

Here's the script from the ad:
Rahtz: 'As a police officer, I walked a beat, served on the vice squad and SWAT team and became an expert on drug addiction. I saw firsthand the effects of Ohio's destructive marijuana laws. Simply put - they don't work. Ohio spends more than $100 million each year on this failed effort. It's time for marijuana reform. So law enforcement can spend their time cracking down on real criminals and making Ohio a safer place for our families. Vote yes on 3.'
