Overcast And Blind Poem by Kathryn Garner

Overcast And Blind

If it had been her eyes
They would have been clouded
Two, pale misty moons
Overcast by shadows
Till it was imposible to see
From the white and darkness
So vivid from fear of compassion
That they were the only thing alive
And standing still
In this dark dead earth and face
Two eyes veiled by lace
Decorated
She could still see the outlines
Of the world she was among
Trapped among
But they would have been guarded
By the decoration
By a cold needle,
A cold soul

But they weren’t two eyes
This was infact
Her cold, cruel, heart
Alive, yet reeking of death
Of another
For she was so blind here
She couldn’t see
How very much he loved her
