Overcoming Poor Performance - Poem by Tim Kimball

I hear the screams,
Although you left the island…

My inescapable humility,
Stands naked in front
Of an open door;
That horn you blow,
Doesn’t prove
That you know
What to bring to the table.

The dead comes in a dream,
And a Mother’s daydreams
Win over the final cut;
The last word,
Lays in a cup
That overflows basic fears.
