Pain Poem by Shannon Hughes

Pain

Rating: 4.0

A fiery
Excruciating pain
Pulses throughout my
Rusting iron veins
Seeping
Multiplying
Feeding on my growing
Weakness
Unfathomable
Intolerable
Like 1000 white-hot needles
Piercing every square-inch
Of my body
Digging deeper
Hammering on my
Brain
Eating away my
Life
I try and hold on
I scream and plead
But I slip away
And the pain
The fiery
Excruciating pain
Devours me
Completely
