Pain Poem by Ashley Mae Manning

Pain

You have a way of turning my world
from black and white to gray
never to know that one day
you would be everything
but gone in a flash of light
never to be seen again
to know the truth but believe the lies
not to know you were the one
that made me cry.

As your name rolls off my tounge
it gently fades into the background
the pain is like a ghost
you can feel its present
but never really see it.

Moving on is always in my mind
but the fear on rejection always covers it
knowing that i will never really
love someone quite like you
wanting to be in your arms again
always brings me back to you.

But strike without gain
i cant take the pain
finding someone that truely loves me
is all i want anymore.
as a tear travels down my cheek
i find the strength to stand
and to know that i can be loved again.
