Pain Deepens
Disappointment in myself,
Sorrow leaking into my soul,
Depression begins to take its toll.
The pain it causes,
Is so much to bear,
But life will go on,
I must not care.
I must forget,
What thoughts bring pain,
Lock them away,
They will not bring a gain.
They pull me down,
Deeper into the pit,
Waiting for it to end,
Waiting for my heart to split.
