Painful Lamentation - Poem by Martins Akhoeneto
Now I know the colour of pain
What many say is hard to explain
It touches me with a cold arm
Singing me lullabies, an alarm
The one I hate to hear
It remind me of what we share
It makes me recap those early years
And bring to me unending tears
I hate that last earth
That fell on your cold body
Gone too soon I sang in regret
He was my friend- my paddy
Whose life battery went flat
To leave awful pains in my heart.
