Paint A New Day Poem by Alexander Downie

Paint A New Day

Paint a new day with bold brash strokes and banish blues.
Scream in brilliant yellows and make your own daily news.
Clash purples and orange and Jasmine is no longer green.
Swatch golds and silver and blend brutal acts that have been.

Write letters of red for love to be found in corners dangerously dark.
Lightly brush the hands of the past with crimson, as if it was the start.
Cover charcoal in rust, while flames burn crooked walls in an amber hue.
Paint a new day, paint a new heart, paint and new life, paint an new you!
