Paint Me Nothing Poem by Rey Benipayo

Paint Me Nothing

Paint me nothing
Instead of any color
This is who I am
This what the public
Want and should see
They must know me
Without hiding anything
This me, nothing but me
A hot tempered person
An enemy to law breakers
My mouth's full of foul words
Whenever I get angry
I'm frank and truthful
Some I am misunderstood
But I am loving, loyal man
Caring for my own country
Friends of a law-abiding citizens
I have greatest faith in God
And most of all, I'm not selfish
As a leader of this country,
My life is in public
It is my duty to risk my life
For I fear no one
I want the people to know
I am never be perfect
I'm just a person
This me, a real person!
Don't paint me of any colors
Just plain and colorless.
