Panayia Poem by Elia Michael

Panayia

There is a place I like to go
I often walk there nice and slow
To a little church all alone
Where the blue sea sparkles below

I hear the wind gently moan
A pleasant reassuring drone
It lightly caresses my skin
I think of someone I have known

A bird on a branch makes a din
So loud I cannot help but grin
At how it sees me as a threat
But I do decide to give in

I do not want the bird to fret
So I leave this romantic set
One which I will never forget
One which I will never forget
