Paradiso Poem by Stephen Brian Brady

Paradiso

in Paradiso by the sea
disturbing guests at afternoon tea
was a talking-bird
who'd broken free
from a perch in a bar of a hostelry
way down town from the'Bel Ami'

and they choked on their scones and patisseries
as he plumbed the depths of vocabulary

but apart from Madame's feigned apoplexy
with Spritzers and Gin came decadency
and they swore all was bon
that apres-midi
