Paranoia Poem by Rip Brown

Paranoia

It was the poetry group threw me off last night.
I'd strayed too far from it all and it showed.
I loved giving them a piece of my Mexican verse,
But it didn't matter, Viv' was missing.

No, it's the mortgage company
they got your hopes up then looked deep and turned you
down.

No, it's the work. Although they just promoted you,
you still worried they'd fire you.

No it's the travel.
Take the girls with you to California? How you gonna' pay for that?
Borrow on the next bonus?

No matter how it turns out, no love,
no job no money or family,

you've always got that bad poetry you've written to blame.
