Parody Of Wit Poem by martin.j. schofield

Parody Of Wit

In a parody of wit
I found that to fully absorb all levels
Of emotional recourse
The ups and downs
The meager frowns
Moods and undertones
Monologues and dialogues
To ruse the clowns
From their impending cruelty
Yet still disclose the root source
I had to delve into my soul
So far below
Deep into the circumstances
In order to better understand
Those that encountered such
But when I did
In full indulgence
It bit and snarled at me
Coercing me into its decadent pattern
Of self destruction
In a constant state of confusion
I was consumed by it
Thriving on its falseness
And deriving immense pleasure
Thought I had its measure
From my own abysmal malady
Where intuitively I ask
Is it a potion or a magic remedy?
