Passengers Side Poem by Robert Burgan

Passengers Side

You are my ride or die eye in a sky full of blind minds
You keep me from ending time
You keep me hopeful that one day you will be mine
I accept the fact that I can't escape insanity
That vanity ends in tragedy, that strategy has no plan for me
And that the manic side is the better half you can't stand to see

I dive into your mantra, I sore into your aura
Aurora borealis palace locked inside your horror
I can be that movie I can be the scene you dream
I can be a decent being or the monster feasting on everything
You choose my mood I'll misconstrue the ruse
Hope falling from the sky, I'm pending doom
Let's just pretend it's something new

Seven day stay, locked away from reality
But I feel more in touch when I'm out of touch
Focused on malady
Melancholic waves rushing from pale white ceilings
Dealings with the devil (in my mind) equate to my feelings
Stealing hearts from open chests, saves me the labor of prying
You're the opposite of that I scour every inch of the place you're hiding
Little bird with a broken wing pouring flowers from your chest
So I chewed the stems until I reached your breast
I'll give you my best in exchange for a few memories
Let the energy digest me and spit me back into reality where I live in an empty nest
Digress, every second, lip stick stains and a bloody lip to remember your present tense, essence

I'll be the famous vagrant
This will be the opus for all the hopeless dope heads
Who traded their lives for anguish
Extinguish pride, release a vulnerable side and refuse to hide
You be my ride or die I'll be the passenger's side
I'll be the passenger's side
When I look into your eyes…I see mine

You are my pedestal, my pride, my ride or die
I feel like a million dollars when I have you by my side
Another case of escapism, another blind eye trapped inside somebody else's precious time
Flesh and blood, lust, trust my crush until I get crushed to dust

I'll be the famous vagrant
This will be the opus for all the hopeless dope heads
Who traded their lives for anguish
Extinguish pride, release a vulnerable side and refuse to hide
You be my ride or die I'll be the passenger's side
I'll be the passenger's side
When I look into your eyes…I see mine
