Passion - Poem by Kavya Leo Vakkayil

I wished to give it wings
From the day I knew its within me
To let it fly high enough
And reach the limits ahead.
But I was forced;
To let it bury
I chained it with grief
For all these years passed

It was growing inside me
A beauty that was concealed
At times I wondered
Why it never died within me?

I know the days are not so far
To raise the freedom flags
I whispered each dark night
To let it hear my voice
I am not afraid anymore
I said with my strength of will
Oh my passion,
I will never let you die.

Beautiful motivational piece of poetry insightfully penned with conviction. Indeed, passion slumbers where there is no willpower to set it in motion. A lovely poem bristling with knowledge. Thanks for sharing Leo. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON. (Report) Reply

Poesy is such a thing that if it is with you, you can not suppress it for ever. It comes out with a bang at opportune time forcibly and till then the would be poet/poetess will have to suffer from it's pangs. Wonderful expression. Thanks for sharing.10 points. (Report) Reply
