Paternity Poem by Latasha LeeAnn Hall

Paternity

What gives you the right
To act the way you do?
My psyche you sever and bite.
Atrocity and cruelty, all I ever knew.

Take away from me the only thing I need.
Imprisoning me for your own greed.
You know who you are; I'll never point you out.
And somehow my love you aren't without.

You raised me
And crazed me.
Lion killed the lamb.
Made me who I am.
You tried in vain
And now I'm insane.

Wish I could just hate you.
Everyone knows I've tried to.
To kill you would make my day.
But I go away to be my prey.

You're sick and f-ck-d, hypocrite.
Get stoned or drunk and burn in the pit.
Every little thing you say you abhor,
You lie, you lie, 'cause you're not anymore.

You raised me
And crazed me.
Lion killed the lamb.
Made me who I am.
You tried in vain
And now I'm insane.

I'm so blind, I can't see I'm just like you.
I detest the fact, but I know it's true.
My own surrogate mother, you carried me.
Put me in the resin, let it harden, let me be.

Now I value this life that I hate.
So prideful of the world that you made.
Junk in this house, junk in my blood.
I'd change everything if I only could.

You raised me
And crazed me.
Lion killed the lamb.
Made me who I am.
You tried in vain
And now I'm insane.

Your love is toxic, coerce controlled.
Nevermind, forget the one they behold.
Old and handicapped, your mental capacity.
You fooled us all, but they only see the pretty.

Is it good that I can see through the sh-t?
How could it be when I see the f-ck-d truth of it?
I am deranged and my heart you bit.
Shut your mouth because I'm tired of it.
