PEACE

Beyond this cloud of ashes
man hopes.
He hopes the darkness will return to him
his legacy of hope,
his ancient transparent map.
Man wants a moment of silence
so that the child may say his first word.
That word
which is never ‘war'
which is never ‘death'.
