Peace? (An Open Letter To George W. Bu.Sh) Poem by Sharmagne Leland-St. John

Peace? (An Open Letter To George W. Bu.Sh)

Peace is the goal the peacemakers say
As they taint with their hatred the U.S. of A
There's no use denying
The eagle is dying
Our grandchildren will suffer for the debt you can't pay

Like Hitler you hold them at Guantanamo Bay
'They're suspected of being al-Qaeda' is all you would say
'What if they're Taliban, or by God something worse? '
Will this country survive your treacherous curse
With the blood of the innocents, is this how you'll pay?

You've pillaged and ruined in your inimitable way
Destroyed many a village, returned them to clay
You've murdered and maimed
For peace as you've claimed
Generations will suffer for what you’ve done here today!
