Peace Over History Poem by J.C. Masa

Peace Over History

I'm not a hero or a prince; I'm a person with my own shadows.
I'm still wounded by the past, but no longer afraid of dark sorrows.
From that journey, I've learned peace is more alluring than history;
That is why I can see your worth, so fully and so vividly.

You don't have to be mine today; you just have to be yourself.
I'm happy that these feelings no longer hide upon the shelf.
I'll always know you're worthy of being loved in such a way;
I admire your grace and gratitude, rather than pulling away.

You are rare and worth every ounce of my effort;
A reminder of how you inspired me through your own worth.
You haunted my thoughts in the most beautiful way possible—
With feelings so immense, I could do the unthinkable.
