Pebble In Your Shoe Poem by Caroline Guedes

Pebble In Your Shoe

How am I the pebble in your shoe?
When not long ago I was the cream in your coffee
What seemed to me a dream coming true
materialized the tears of a thousand seas

Was I not the ribbon at the finish line?
At one point was I ever the icing on the cake?
What revolved inside my head was perfection
but perfection must have made a huge mistake

How am I the thorn in your side?
When I was the softest pettle on a rose
Did I delude myself to thinking I mattered?
You can't fathom my heartache, only God knows

How can I be the burden on your shoulders?
All I wanted to be was the arrow Cupid shot
But I can't be anything for you if you don't
even know what you want, it's not my fault your lost

How am I a broken record?
skipping over again that I tried and failed
I see you're blind if you don't want me now
You had your chance to be in my fairy tale
