Pendulum Poem by Dan Reynolds

Pendulum

Pendulum

Would you deny me my mellowness?
Rob me of my blindfold of indifference?
Train my eyes on the harsh screen of reality
Selectively proffered
In unattractive packaging

Admittedly
My permission to bland
Is a geogr-accident of birth
What is there in my circle
that could wrench and wield
the wooden spoon of passionate outrage?

And why are all the Bluesmen
assumed to be "Laid-back" (Excluding Chuck?)
So many songs from a similar source
Oppression/depression/bad luck and bad faith
I woke up this moaning
and exorcised myself.

Could my dreams really hurt you?
Is your misery at risk?
