People.. - Poem by Elizabeth Barry

Some people may be weaker in many things they do,
May walk or talk or look a lot more differently than you

But we are not to judge them and we are not to sneer
And we are not to bully tease or scare them into fear

For that isn't very clever although some think it's smart
It's an insecure abnormality of a weaker person's heart

So all you people out there, no matter what others do
don’t let them stop you growing and always be just you

For the ones who do the devious deeds and the name calling too
they are the victims of themselves and remember that not you!

They are their own victims and stay victims as they grow
And you will continue growing much more precious than you know

so don't you let them hurt you and don't you let them win
And remember you are special and that they are weak within

And if they say they’re sorry and they didn't see
what they do when they hurt people or what they do when they are mean

Then maybe they will grow too and maybe there will be
a happy ever after for them, plus you and me.

Be strong.
