By Jesus E. Loreto Jr.
You are divine, so fragile, so sensual,
a gentle mystery heaven scattered in my way;
a beautiful danger, timeless and eternal,
the taste of the sea's sweet salt
that leaves my soul forever craving your embrace.
You stir my heart just like the restless tide
that fiercely holds the waves against the shore;
my naked dreams surrender with each sunrise
to your beautiful honey-colored eyes,
while my humbled spirit kneels in silent prayer,
marveling at the masterpiece the Master Architect designed.
You are the sigh that wanders through the wind,
the very life my God has given me;
the rain that kisses earth with tender passion,
warm and overflowing with desire,
bringing comfort to the lonely sparrow
who falls headfirst from the clouds because he dared to love.
Your memory awakens its most beautiful song.
My blood runs crimson, vibrant, and alive,
dancing to the rhythm beating in my chest,
like a summer storm—holy, wild, and fierce—
that dances with the sun
and sets our waiting skin on fire once again.
A permanent resident of all my thoughts,
and of my heart as well;
keeper of the place where every heartbeat hides.
I love you without needing any reason.
I give you every breath I have,
without hesitation,
without a single doubt.
In the burning stillness of our souls,
we dance without shame,
bare beneath the cool night air,
free...
and completely alive.
