Permission - Poem by Nina gáspari

Could I love you?
Asking for permission
To get to know you
Could I show you?
Asking for permission
To let you aware
Of the things that might eventually
Make you care
Could I touch you?
Asking for permission
To feel the depths of your soul and mind
Could I feel you?
Asking for permission
To get just one inch nearer you
Could I see you?
Asking for permission
To close my eyes and
Fantasize of your forever fading smile
Could I let you go?
Not asking for permission
To walk away when I can longer see
How much u mean to me.
