Petty
Why do you care?
About the color of my skin
We are on the edge of a world war
Race won't matter if a bomb drops
Why do you care?
About where I'm from
What god I worship
Or if I worship a god at all
We all come from the same earth
If god made us
They made me too
Just the same as you
Why do you care?
About how I act, how I dress
I wear what makes me feel comfortable
I'm not dressing to impress you
Why do you care?
What my gender identity is?
Somehow I think I know me better
Than you do
Why do you care?
About my sexuality
If I'm going to hell for it
Let god punish me then
And when it turns out your wrong
You won't have wasted your time
It seems to me that maybe
Just maybe
Since the world is so messed up
Since we are on the edge of the 6th mass extinction
And past the edge of a global climate crisis
It's incredibly petty to care about things that don't affect you
Maybe instead of passing pointless laws
Preventing a trans kid to use the bathroom that aligns with their gender
A kid can use
Pointing fingers
Blaming people
We should put our heads together
To actually, you know
Solve a real problem
