Petty New Day - Poem by Palious Thatcher

Today is a new day
As yesterday
And all days before.
What makes the idea
Of a new day so invigorating?
What petty hope stirs
for this over-promised
Un-lived up to new day.
Time never stops
The only things that can be new
Are emotions and Ideas
Let the weak in mind
Look for their new day
As swine search for freedom
Back turned to the open gate
