Phantom Within Poem by Lilith Van'Nightinveil

Phantom Within

In the mirror's reflection, a hollow guise,
A silhouette obscured, a faint disguise,
A phantom haunting corridor within,
A mere semblance of what's never been.

Estranged from self, a distant sight,
A soul adrift in the veils of night,
I dwell within this spectral domain,
A ghostly echo of echoes, in vain.

No tether to reality's firm ground,
A wanderer lost, identity unfound,
An enigma trapped in its silent cell,
A fragile husk, an empty shell.

I watch life's stage from a realm apart,
A spectator, with a severed heart,
A shadowed figure amidst the throng,
A phantom witness to a world gone wrong.

I crave to grasp the essence of 'me',
Yet elusive truths slip into the sea,
I'm the echo of a forgotten chime,
A murmur lost in the sands of time.

The yearning to emerge, to truly see,
To break free from this spectral decree,
But I'm the phantom of a fading well,
A ghostly remnant, an empty shell.

So I drift amid the hues of gray,
A silent watcher, in disarray,
Aching for a semblance of the real,
To know the 'I' that time cannot steal.

Oh, let me shed this ghostly guise,
Unveil the self beneath disguise,
To merge the fragments, make them whole,
Embrace the 'I' within this soul.

Yet still, I linger, an ethereal wisp,
Adrift in the void, in twilight's crisp,
A symphony of echoes that dwell,
A ghost of a shell, within my spell.

May the dawn's embrace unfurl the veil,
Reveal the truth that's yet to prevail,
Till then, I remain, in spectral sighs,
A wandering spirit in disguise.
