Philosophy Poem by Tiernan Booth

I found this one philosophy that nothing lasts forever.
Now because of this I was afraid to show that I love you,
I was afraid that not only might you not love me too,
But I was mostly afraid that maybe..you do!
That if you love me now than maybe latter you won't,
And maybe you will but right now you don't!

But you convinced me you were different,
And I convinced myself to believe it,
You told me forever and always,
But I found it was just a phase!
This is why I pushed you away,
There's a reason for every word that I say!

Am I paranoid? Maybe,
But I was afraid you would leave!
And not too long later, you did leave me..
So I guess I am paranoid, questionably.
Paranoid or PTSD?
I wonder which it could be.

Back on the topic of my philosophy,
Nothing lasts forever, and that's how it's gotta be.
I wanted more than anything, to be just you and me,
But the truth is love is just crazy that way,
One second "I love you" is all they can say,
But they run away the very next day.
